 All of us are already familiar with the golden  herb turmeric.It is widely used in the Asian cuisines to impart yellow golden hue to the food. There are plethora of benefits provided by this humble herb. Turmeric - the king of spices also carries the anti-flammatory properties that treats the wounds, acne, redness and itching of skin, treats uneven skin tone and even helps with the hair fall problems. Isn't it amazing to know the list of benefits this single spice carries.

       


Benefits of Turmeric

 There are several health benefits of this miracalous herb.It not only acts as a boon for physical health but also promotes brain health. The anti-flammatory and antibacterial properties play an important role in curing the wounds and acne. It also helps in reducing the blemishes and redness resulting in lightening of the skin, giving a fair glowing skin. Curcumin present in turmeric enhances the body's synthesis of antioxidants which protects skin from free radical damage and slows down the ageing process. It cures the stretch marks and skin pigmentation making skin glass clear.

Other than that, the herbal products distract us by the list of ingredients displayed on the bottles.There are products displaying images of turmeric and its benefits, reaping fat profits just by fooling customers. There is no need to burn a hole in your pocket to buy these beauty products when you have this golden herb in your kitchen that can do wonders to you. 

Benefits for skin

There are several turmeric masks  that can be used to brighten and lighten your skin. Just ensure the turmeric you are using should be natural and not adulterated by the synthetic colors.

1.  For reducing scars

 Mix a pinch of turmeric with warm water and honey.Make a fine paste from it and apply on your face and neck.Let it dry for 25 minutes and wash it off with lukewarm water. Repeat the procedure 2-3 times a week.

2. For hyper pigmentation and wrinkles

Mix a pinch of turmeric with yogurt and lemon juice. Apply this paste on your face and neck and leave it for 30 minutes to get extra nourishment and brightening effects.Wash it off when dry. Repeat the process twice a week.It helps in reduction of excess oil on the skin and thus treats pimples and acne.

3. For soothing skin

Mix a pinch of turmeric with aloe vera gel and apply on your skin. Leave it for 25 minutes and then wash it off with lukewarm water. This will help get rid of itching skin and leave a soothing effect.


4.To get antioxidant power

Combine turmeric with few drops of distilled water or rose water and apply this paste on your face. If you feel the consistency of paste is a little watery, you may add a teaspoon of rice flour to make it thick. Let it dry for 25 minutes and wash it off with warm water.

5.For dry skin

Mix a pinch of turmeric skin with a few drops of coconut oil. Apply the mixture on your skin and let it dry.Wash it off after 25 minutes. Repeat the process thrice a week.

6. For glass clear skin

Mix a pinch of turmeric with besan or chickpea flour and add a few drops of raw milk. Apply this paste on your skin and leave it for 30 minutes. After it dries scrub it with help of 1 tablespoon of yogurt. Then wash it off with lukewarm water. Repeat it twice a week.



These are the rejuvenating  masks that can be used to get rid of various skin ailments that too naturally and within your budget. Some of these are my personal favorite. Give this golden herb a try, I bet you won't stop using it.
